"Daddy," she asked, "How Can I Know That..."
"Daddy," she asked, "How can I know that there will be food for dinner tonight?"
The dad replied, "Honey, you know that I love you so, so much! I work hard so that you always have enough food, and God provides for us.
"You don't need to worry about that; our heavenly Father cares for us, and I as your father love you and will always see that you have enough to eat."
That would be a good father, wouldn't it? Isn't that how almost any good father would respond? We want to see our children cared for and well fed and protected.
Yet how often do we worry about our next meal, or what we will eat, or what we will wear? Jesus told us that if our Father in heaven cares for even the lilies of the field, how much more will He care for us?
Jesus said, "So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
