This Christmas you may be surrounded by laughter and light - friends and family that love you dearly. Or you may be lonely, possibly confused about why everyone else seems to have so much joy. I want to give you some hope.
The reason we celebrate Christmas is that God came down to earth to save us in the form of His son, Jesus. The Bible says in Matthew 1:23-
“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
God took on flesh and blood to be with us!
I want to pray for you today that You'd know what it feels like and what it means for God to be with you...
Dear Lord,
Remind us that You are near to us! You are near when we are hurting and when we rejoice. Because You came in human form, died on the cross, and rose again, I will never be alone.
You even said that after You rose to Heaven, You wouldn't leave us. You'd come to us in the form of Your Holy Spirit.
So I ask, Spirit, be near to Your son or daughter. Show them they're precious to You. That You chose to come to earth in the humble form of a tiny baby - just to be with us! Just to make a way for us to be with You forever!
I pray that whatever stress or loneliness Your children around the world are feeling now, they'd have great hope in the fact that You love them dearly. You would do anything to be reunited with them! And that even if we seem completely alone, You are always here.
Thank You, Jesus for coming to save us!
