God is holy and just; He is not able to be with sin. If our sin were not paid, then we would not be able to be with Him for all eternity. God has always required a blood sacrifice for sin.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
The only form of payment that God will accept is the blood of Jesus. It is by His blood that we are washed white as snow and able to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven and God's presence. Why is Jesus' blood so special? Jesus Christ is unique! Jesus is fully God and fully man and the only Way to the Father!
"Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)
The sin that blocks us all from God was human-caused and can only be paid for with human blood, not just any human blood though; sinless human blood, only the perfect blood of Jesus!
"For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive." (1 Corinthians 15:21–22)
It is important that we remember what Jesus' precious and powerful blood did for us every day of our lives, not just on Sundays or holidays like Easter. Listen to the truths that this song proclaims and let the words sink in. How precious is the flow that washed us white as snow!
