What Are the 3 Shortest Verses in the Bible?

And What Message do They Have for You?

The 3 shortest verses in the Bible may depend a little bit on what translation and language you are reading the Bible in, but they would generally be these 3:

  1.  “Jesus wept.”  This is found in the book of John, Chapter 11 verse 35.  This speaks to the compassion of Jesus for all of us.
  2. “Rejoice always.”  This is found in 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5 verse 16.  This is the Apostle Paul writing and is a great encouragement to us all to rejoice always, whether in good circumstances or in bad.
  3. “Pray without ceasing.”  This is also in 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5 and is verse 17.  In this verse the Apostle Paul encourages us to pray without ceasing.  While we may not be always praying out loud, we can have God in our hearts and live our lives with Him speaking to our hearts and us speaking and communing with Him.
