3 Keys to Victory From the Bible

The Bible tells us much about how to have victory in this life! Here are lessons from Joshua.

In the Book of Joshua in the Old Testament, God spoke to Joshua. Joshua had just assumed leadership of the Jewish people following the death of Moses, the great prophet of God.

It would be very understandable if Joshua was somewhat afraid and intimidated; he was about to lead the Jewish people into battle, and he was following Moses who was an incredible prophet and man of God. Here are 3 principles that God gave to Joshua.

  1. Arise and go forward. There is no victory in retreating or in just sitting (unless God tells you to!). God told Joshua to go and make forward progress and possess the land.
  2. Be strong and courageous. God repeated this to Joshua and told him not to "tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." The key to our victory is God is with us! Because of this we can be strong and courageous and not fear.
  3. Meditate on and obey the Word of God. God has given us His Word. We are to study and obey -- not just read, but do what He says. There is tremendous supernatural power in God's Word -- it is the sword of the Spirit. We are to hide God's Word in our hearts that we will not sin against Him but can stand strong and victorious.

So be strong and courageous and do not fear, because God is with you. Study and obey the Word of God. And arise and go forward!
