We say that we are thankful to God for all that He has done for us, but how can we show God our thankfulness? Here are three ways!
1. Put God First
When we put God first in our lives, it is showing Him that we are thankful for ALL that He has done for us. We do this by living in relationship with Him and making that the most important thing in our life.
"In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." Proverbs 3:6
"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." Matthew 6:33
2. Show His Love To Others
We cannot say that we are truly following Christ if we are not loving others. God wants us to give when we can and always show kindness. This doesn't mean loving only the people who act like us, or look like us or think like us; Jesus meant everybody!
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another." John 13:34
"We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother." 1 John 4:19-21
3. Love Yourself By Letting God Take Care Of You
Some people seem to think that self-care is selfish, but it's really not. God cares about us and our well-being! There is only one you and you were meant to live for God's glory. If you are not taking good care of yourself, that becomes a lot harder to do. Jesus took time to rest and taught His disciples the importance of it as well. It is important that you take time to be renewed by the Lord and let yourself rest in His arms.
"And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat." Mark 6:31
"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty." Psalm 91:1
"Return, O my soul, to your rest; for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you." Psalm 116:7
"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!" Psalm 34:8
