When we sin, it’s easy to go down a slippery slope of shame and guilt - and to believe that our sins are just too big and too bad for God to forgive. Or maybe it’s not that we feel our sins are especially “big and bad,” but instead we’re ashamed that this is the 100th time we’ve slipped into that same, sinful pattern. It leaves us asking, “Does God really want to forgive ME?”
God’s Forgiveness Is for Everyone
For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. Psalm 86:5
God’s Forgiveness Doesn’t Run Out
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:19
God’s Forgiveness Requires Us to Forgive Others
And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:25
God’s Forgiveness Is Given Through Jesus Christ
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
