It can be easy to blame God when difficult times surface in our lives or the lives of our loved ones. God does not intend harm for us; that is not the kind of God that He is. He doesn't pick and choose what bad things will happen to us next. Bad things happen because of sin entering the world many, many years ago. God in His wisdom allows things to happen to us, but He also brings good out of it all.
In Romans 8:28, Paul writes:
"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
Paul went through some very trying times in his life, yet he remained faithful and trusted that God would do things according to His will. Paul's words remind us that despite our circumstances, God is the God of the Universe, and we can trust Him with our lives. How often do we find ourselves in circumstances that we don't understand?
We may not see the good that God is working in certain situations in our lives during our time on the earth, and we may not see the seeds of faith being planted in others through our faith during various trials. Just because we don't physically see God working, that doesn't mean that He isn't. I am so thankful that no matter what is going on in our lives, we can trust with confidence that God is working behind the scenes!
