Fathers are supposed to love their children unconditionally and be their ultimate protectors. Unfortunately, our earthly fathers are human and with humanity comes flaws and sin. Many people have fathers on this earth that have failed them again and again or have just walked away, and it may be hard to picture God as a loving father. Whether you have a good relationship with your earthly father or not, they are human and are not perfect, and even the good ones mess up at times. One thing all Christians can take comfort in is knowing that God is our actual Father and He will never let us down.
"Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation." Psalm 68:5
"If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!" Matthew 7:11
God loves us with an everlasting, powerful love. No matter what we do, He has already forgiven us and His love does not change for us based on our actions. He knows just what we need and when. God is not just a good Father sometimes; He is the best Father at all times!
"But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change." James 1:17
