The Bible talks about "having favor with God." God loves you and wants to bless you and lead you. Here are a few keys to having favor with God.
Having "favor with God" is wonderful. It means God loves you and wants to bless you and is a particular mark of God's approval. In the Bible, there are several people who the Bible says found favor with God.
When the angel announced the birth of Jesus to Mary, he said she had found "favor with God." The Bible says Noah found "favor in the eyes of the Lord." King David "found favor in God's sight."
Yet, we might say, all these were exceptional holy people of God. How about us? We are not Mary, or Noah, or David.
But the good news is there is hope for us! When we accept Jesus Christ into our lives as our Savior and Lord, Jesus comes and lives in our lives by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are redeemed with Christ. Our righteousness is now not of our own making, but is the righteousness of Jesus.
So God is pleased to call us His sons and daughters -- a "royal priesthood, a holy nation." Even though we are just sinners who have accepted Jesus, God calls us His children. We are favored by God not because of our own righteousness, but because of Jesus! God made Christ to become sin for us, that we might receive the righteousness of God in Jesus.
Paul said "Now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation." When you accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and follow after Him, you can receive God's favor and blessing as a child of God.
