In the Bible, there are many promises made by God. Some promises are for specific individuals, but there are MANY that we have access to through Jesus! Many Christians struggle with believing the promises of God. Oh, they sound nice, and sometimes they even cheer us up. But we may wonder, are they really true? Unconsciously, at least, we question whether or not God really does keep His promises.
Our God loves us and He will never let us down. All of the promises that He has ever made have or will come true!
Let's take a look at some of the promises in the Old and the New Testament that God has given us through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1. He promises that if we search for Him, we WILL find Him.
"But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul." Deuteronomy 4:29
2. He promises that His love will NEVER fail.
"Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever!" 1 Chronicles 16:34
3. He promises to forgive us of ALL of our sins.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9
4. He promises us a NEW life in Christ.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17
5. He promises to work all things out for our GOOD, even if we may not see it now.
"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
D.L. Moody confidently stated, "God never made a promise that was too good to be true.” Think about that the next time you doubt that God's promises are real!
