When you became a Christian, did you think that all of your troubles would instantly disappear? That you would all of a sudden be living the easy life? It can be easy to believe that it should work that way, but the truth is: it doesn't.
Quite the opposite is usually true. Though you may be all in for Christ, your friends and family may not see things the way that you do. They might even get upset with you for being a different person and trying to live in the Spirit and no longer in the flesh. You may feel pressure to go back to your old ways and give up this new way of life.
"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Friends, don't do it! That is exactly what Satan wants- he wants us all to fail. He wants us to be discouraged and miss our old way of life. We must remain steadfast in our faith and remember that Christ has already overcome the world!
"Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him." James 1:12
No one ever said following Christ is easy, but it is always, always worth it because Christ offers something the world can never give us- true peace and freedom! We are no longer alone in our struggles, but God is with us and working all out for our good.
