Why is praising God so important?
The Bible encourages us to praise and worship and give thanks to God. Why is this so important in our lives as Christians?
We tend to be self-focused as individuals, which often leads us to pay too much attention to our problems and limitations. The Bible says, "Why are you in despair, Oh my soul? Hope thou in God, for I shall yet praise Him!"
Praise and thanksgiving are an expression of faith! We can -- and should -- thank God for His many blessings. There is an old saying, "Count your blessings," which is very true. You can thank and praise God for
- His salvation
- Sending Jesus
- His love
- His character
- Family
- Health
- Financial provision
And many, many more blessings.
It is also an act of faith to thank and praise God while in the middle of hard circumstances since we know that God is good and He will care for us and provide for us.
So in everything, thank God!
