Just after Jesus was crucified and then He rose from the dead, the angel said something amazing to Mary. What was it?
Jesus Christ was crucified to pay for the sins of the world. Mary, one of His followers, came to the tomb where He had been buried to anoint His body for burial.
When she came to be there, she was astonished for she saw an angel in the tomb where Jesus had been. The angel said these amazing words to her:
"Why do you seek the Living One among the dead? He is not here; He is risen!"
And thus the wonderful Christian faith in our Jesus Christ who rose from the dead began. "He is not here! He is risen!" Jesus is not in the tomb. He has conquered sin and death and the grave. Jesus Christ has risen from the dead; and so we can be freed from the power of sin.
"Why do you seek the Living One among the dead? He is not here; He is risen!"
