Jesus was asked what the most important commandment was. He answered with two commandments. Do you know what they were?
In the Old Testament, there are many commandments. There are the 10 commandments that God gave Moses on the mountain, containing commands like you shall not steal, you shall not murder, and others -- and these are incredibly important.
There are also many other commandments we are to follow concerning our relationship with God and moral behavior. Yet Jesus, amazingly, said there were just two commandments which are the most important.
What are they?
The first is: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."
The second is: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Jesus said, "All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
Let us ask God to help us love God and love others as He wants us to! We cannot do that without God's power and love flowing through us in the power of the Holy Spirit.
