It's easy to think that only our pastors have spiritual gifts, but that's not the truth at all! The Bible says that God gave each one of us a spiritual gift.

Why Do We Have Spiritual Gifts?

 A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. 1 Corinthians 12:7

What Are The 9 Spiritual Gifts?

1. Word of Wisdom

To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice... 1 Cor 12:8

2. Word of Knowledge

to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. 1 Cor 12:8

3. Faith

The same Spirit gives great faith to another... 1 Cor 12:9

4. Healing

and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. 1 Cor 12:9

5. Miracles

He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. 1 Cor 12:10

6. Prophecy

He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. 1 Cor 12:10

7. Discerning of Spirits

He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. 1 Cor 12:10

8. Tongues

Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages... 1 Cor 12:10

9. Interpretation of Tongues

...while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. 1 Cor 12:10

How can I know which gift I have?

The Bible says that the Spirit chooses which gift you have. So, a good place to start discovering your spiritual gift is to ask God in prayer. And always be open to serving others, with the Holy Spirit's leading, and you'll begin to discover which gift the Holy Spirit empowers you with!

It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have. 1 Cor 12:11
