When we think about God's love for us, it is often easy to put in a box. To say 'God only loves me when I am good' or even to think that God's love for us changes from day to day or hour to hour.
This is simply not true! Do you know that the Bible states that the Lord's love for us is steadfast?
Steadfast? What does that mean? The dictionary defines steadfast as:
a: firmly fixed in place: immovable
b: not subject to change
God's love does not change based on 'our' character or actions because his unchanging love for us is a part of HIS character. Isn't that wonderful news? Look at some of the verses below where God's steadfast love for His people is talked about.
All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness,
for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.
Psalm 25:10
He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD.
Psalm 33:5
Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
Psalm 63:3
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
Psalm 103:11
