We want to be righteous. How can we be righteous with God's help?
To be righteous is be be virtuous before God. It may be living right; it may be doing right things; it may be having a heart of integrity.
How can we live righteously before God? We are all sinners, and we live in a world which brings temptations and problems.
The real answer is that we can't be truly righteous in our own strength -- we need God's help! When we ask Jesus Christ to be our Savior, we exchange our lives for his. He died on the cross so that our sins could be forgiven and paid for. We then ask Him to live His life -- through us -- by the power of His Holy Spirit!
When Jesus lives His life through us, we have God's power in us. And God will give us His good and virtuous thoughts -- and help us to love -- and help us to be righteous. We may still fall, since we are weak in our flesh, but we can walk in His righteousness! So the key to living righteously is to turn your life over to God and ask Him to live His life through you in the power of the Holy Spirit and the love of Jesus Christ.
