What books are they? And why are the 3 words very important?
There are two books of the Bible that begin with the same 3 words in English. One is in the Old Testament, and one is in the New Testament. The words themselves are extremely important in what they mean.
What are the 3 words? "In the beginning."
What are the 2 books that begin with "In the beginning?" The first is the book of Genesis, the first book in the Bible. The second is the Gospel of John in the New Testament.
Genesis begins, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." In the beginning -- even before time as we know it -- there was God, and He created everything that is.
John begins, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." So in the beginning -- even before time as we know it -- there was the Word who is Jesus. Jesus was with God, and Jesus was and is God.
