What were the first things Jesus ever said -- and the last -- found in the Bible?
Jesus is the Son of God. He has existed from before time and undoubtedly has said many things from all eternity. Jesus was born as a human baby and grew up in the household of Mary and Joseph.
He undoubtedly said many things as a boy. Still, the earliest words recorded in the Bible that Jesus said are when Mary and Joseph looked for Him after He became separated from them at the Temple at Jerusalem. Even at the young age of 12, Jesus had great wisdom; he was among the teachers at the Jewish Temple, and "All who heard Him were amazed at His understanding and His answers."
When Mary and Joseph found Jesus, He said to them, "Why is it that you were looking for Me? Did you not know that I had to be in My Father's house?" So these were the first recorded words of Jesus -- and in them, He clearly identifies God as His Father.
The last words of Jesus on this earth before He ascended into heaven are found in the book of Acts. He said to His disciples, just before He ascended into heaven,
"...You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."
So Jesus' first words identify God as His Father, and His last words tell His disciples they shall receive the power of the Holy Spirit to be His witnesses to all the world!
